Lofty Pigeon Books in Brooklyn welcomed Akeem S. Roberts for his launch event on July 15, celebrating his author-illustrator debut Class Pet Ghost Detective #1: What Happened to the Naked Mole Rat? (Kokila). The series starter follows third grader Carter, who hopes to clear his name when everyone accuses him of killing their classroom pet, Mr. Pebbles. Roberts was in conversation with New Yorker cartoonist Ellis Rosen.
